- Use Starchy Potatoes – Opt for potatoes that mash easily for a smooth texture.
- Boil & Mash Properly – Ensure potatoes are boiled well and mashed lump-free to avoid a grainy texture.
- Cook in Ghee – Sauté the mashed potatoes in ghee until they turn slightly golden for a rich, authentic flavor. Since this is a vrat recipe, ghee is essential, making the dish both fulfilling and nourishing.
- Balance the Sweetness – Adjust sugar/jaggery as per taste; add gradually while stirring.
- Enhance with Cardamom – Cardamom powder adds an aromatic touch; don't skip it.
- Add Nuts for Crunch – Dry fruits are optional. Adding them enhance the taste of halwa. Although optional ,garnish it with chopped almonds, cashews and raisins for extra texture.
